History

John Schultz graduated from Carleton University in 1979 with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree. John worked for one year for the federal government in 1981, and was a senior scientific programmer for Energy Mines and Resources in the Computer Science Centre

In 1982, John and an associate, Greg Dahms, formed Dahms, Schultz and Associates, which specialized in custom software solutions. In 1985 Schultz Computer Network Systems was incorporated, and like they say, the rest is history.

John wrote many software applications using dBase and FoxPro, eventually moving most of his development to the ZIM environment.  John became a reseller for a software product called Platinum for Windows, which was based on the Pervasive database. Using the ODBC interface, John was able to write utilities that were integrated with Platinum. John also used utilities such as Crystal Reports, R&R Report Writer to give clients custom reports. Working with other clients Schultz Computer began to deploy virtual servers and virtual workstations, allowing his clients to work in their private cloud, saving money and hosting SAAS solutions. Today Schultz clients have a variety of topologies depending on what best suits their business needs, many using Microsoft Server 2008. Schultz computer provides complete systems analysis, helping clients tailor their systems.
